Road Construction Projects

Public Works:

The Town of Barrington Department of Public Works advises residents and motorists that Cate Road will be closed to all but local traffic for several hours on Thursday, July 16th.

Residents will be able to access their homes from the Mallego Road end of Cate Road. The Route 9 entrance will be closed for the duration of the project.

As of this posting, the Town does not have specific start/end times for the project.

The Town of Barrington Department of Public Works advises residents and motorists that Scruton Pond Road will be limited to one lane beginning Wednesday July 8, though Friday July 10*, and again Monday July 13 through Friday July 17th for a paving project.

The project will be in on Scruton Pond Road between Brewster Road and Route 125

Motorists should plan to use alternate routes when possible and expect delays in the surrounding area. 

The Town appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as this work is completed.

The Town of Barrington Department of Public Works advises residents and motorists that Scruton Pond Road will be closed to through traffic on Monday and Tuesday, June 29th and June 30th from 6am to 4pm, to complete a culvert replacement project ahead of the pavement project scheduled for later this Summer on Scruton Pond Rd.

The closure will be in effect on Scruton Pond Road between Oak Hill Road and Route 125. This closure is necessary to allow Public Works crews to safely complete the work within the project area.

Motorists should plan to use alternate routes and expect delays in the surrounding area. Access for local residents and emergency services will be maintained to the extent practicable during construction however, through traffic will not be permitted through the work zone during the closure period.

The Town appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as this work is completed.
