Timber/Excavation

Timber taxes or yield taxes are taxes that are collected on the timber that is cut from your property. You must file an intent to cut prior to your logger beginning work. Once the cutting is done, a report of timber cut is filed and tax bill is issued based on the number of board feet cut times the specific rate for the type and quality within a range set by the state, times 10%. There are small amounts which are non taxable for personal use, inquire at the Assessing Office.

Intents to Excavate may also be obtained at the Assessing office.
