Historical Town Records
This preservation project has been made possible through funds received from the sale of the New Hampshire Moose Conservation License Plate (Moose Plate) and administered by the New Hampshire State Library, a division of the New Hampshire Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
Thanks to funding from this program, Barrington has begun the process of preserving and digitizing historical Town Meeting Records, with the goal to protect the documents while also allowing increased public access. Preservation was completed by Kofile.
In addition to preserving the books in new bindings, the documents were digitized and are available below. The restored books as well as additional historical books are available for viewing by appointment with the Town Clerk's office or Administrative Office.
For information on the New Hampshire Moose Plate Grants, please visit the New Hampshire Division of Historical Resources website: nh.gov/nhdhr/grants/moose/
Information available in these records primarily include results of town meetings and elections as well as road layouts. Glimpses of other Town decisions can be found as well.
