Overview

The Barrington Fire Department is an all-volunteer department providing fire protection, vehicle rescue (extrication), hazardous material response, search and rescue, and other emergency services for the citizens of Barrington.

We operate out of one station located on Route 9, with a complement of two engines, one tanker, one Forestry unit, one utility van, and one boat.

 

Joining the Team

New members are always welcome. If you are interested in joining the department you can call the Fire Department business line, 664-2241, or stop by one of our training meetings on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 p.m., at the Public Safety Building.

 

Fire Permits   

Fire permits are required unless the ground has sufficient snow cover.

Fire permits will be issued in the following manner:

From Memorial Day to Labor day only while it is raining.

From Labor Day to Memorial day permits will be issued after 5pm on days which the fire danger is below a class 3. See Smokey Bear sign in front of the Fire Station for fire danger class.
